Determination of Final Grade |
DETERMINATION OF FINAL GRADE: Chapter Tests-25%, Quizzes/homework-25% Final Exam-30% Attendance 10% Labs 10% 1. You will have 4 Major Tests and a Final Exam in this class. All tests and the exam are taken on blackboard during a specified time frame. If you miss the test and it has to be reopened, there will be an automatic deduction of 20 points. There are "NO RETAKES". If you missed the test due to an EXCUSED absence per the absence policy, you will be able to makeup the test without a grade penalty. Taking the Final Exam is required to complete the course. Lab attendance and participation is required. 2. Homework assignments are to be submitted on blackboard and must be completed by due date, 5 points if a day late, 10 points if 2 days late, 20 PTS will be deducted if submitted a week late. Homework more than 2 weeks late will not receive a grade higher than 50 |

Instructor Policies |
1. I will not discuss your grades over the phone or by email. If you want to discuss your grades, you must come by my office, in person. 2. Cell Phone use is not permitted in the classroom or lab except during breaks. If a student is caught on their cell phone repeatedly in class, the student will be asked to leave class and counted an unexcused absence for the day. 3. Students that are disruptive in class, excessive talking, will be asked to leave and counted an unexcused absence for the day 4. The PTAC program has a dress code, failure to wear proper shoes and clothing will result in being sent out of class and counted absent for the day. |

Attendance Policy |
Research has shown a cause and effect relationship between attendance and college success. Missing a day of lecture can possible cause you to drop a letter grade on tests. 1. Tardiness: Tardiness (more than 5mins), for lectures or labs. 2. Absences: NOTE: Students will need to communicate with me about absences to receive an excused absence at my discretion. Excused absences (verifiable) are only allowed for, a personal doctors visit or a Childs doctor visit or an illness that requires a hospital stay, mandatory quarantine for COVID 19 exposure per current guidelines, or a death in your immediate family. 5 absences=drop 1 letter grade, 7 absences=drop 2 letter grades, 9-absences=drop 3 letter grades, 11 absences=F |
